Chairman’s fundraising aids charities
Four charities have benefited to the tune of £7,226 thanks to the fund-raising efforts of Carol Walker in her year as civic chairman of Derbyshire Dales District Council.
She has presented £2,000 cheques to the Tansley-based Mid Derbyshire Riding for the Disabled, the local Air Ambulance and British Red Cross Ambulance Crew First Responders. A defibrillator project at Stanton in Peak also received a cheque for £1,226.
Mrs Walker represented Bakewell before standing down in local council elections.
