Brass band and school choir in charity concert

Brass musicians and golden-voiced kids will perform in a concert to raise money for a charity which supports community projects in Africa.

Sir Richard Arkwright’s Masson Mills Band will be supported by Great Longstone Primary School Choir at Bakewell Town Hall on Saturday, June 7, at 7pm.

Proceeds from ticket sales will be aid Bakewell-based charity, The Goboka Rwanda Trust, launched by Heather Thomas in 2009, which supports self-sustaining community projects in Rwanda.

Masson Mills Band has a strong tradition of supporting fundraising for Derbyshire-based charities and other causes. Included in their busy schedule this year is a Christmas concertwith Tideswell Male Voice Choir at Chesterfield’s Winding Wheel in December.

The Great Longstone school choir will be led by choir-master and band member Louise Hopkins.
