Actor to sacrifice his locks for charity on last night of show

Charles Dickens described the character of Daniel Peggoty as a generous and truly good man. Daniel not only adopts his orphaned niece (Emily) and nephew (Ham) but supports MrsGummidge the widow of his business partner and one of Dickens’ most memorable comic characters.
So on August 15, in tribute to Daniel and to raise money for Macmillan Cancer Support, Jack, of Holymoorside, Chesterfield, will be having his head shaved by Rebecca Hainsworth, who plays Clara Copperfield.

Hide AdRebecca, who lives in Grindleford, is cast in the role of David Copperfield’s mum in the production by Denys Edwards Players at the Crucible Studio, Sheffield, next week.
The cast includes Sue McCormick from New Whittington, Chesterfield, playing Betsey Trotwood, the great-aunt of David Copperfield.
Thomas Ferris, 12, from Gleadless, plays the young David Copperfield.

Hide AdThe show opens on Tuesday, August 11, and runs until Saturday, August 15. Performances are at 7.15pm with a Saturday matinee at 2.15pm.
