A golden-voiced 11-year-old has sung her way to glory in the first Chesterfield Hidden Talent competition.

A golden-voiced 11-year-old has sung her way to glory in the first Chesterfield Hidden Talent competition.

Louisa Pennington, of Whitwell, triumphed over 13 contenders in the contest’s final at Vicar Lane shopping centre on Sunday.

She said of her win: “It’s brilliant, I’m really excited”.

Runners-up were singer Shane Bear, 19, of Spital, and a dance trio known as Pop Princesses consisting of Charlotte Barthorpe, 10, Harriet Hall, 11, and Ania Horvath, 11, who all attend Hasland Junior School.

The winner and runners -up receive Vicar Lane Shopping Centre vouchers and tickets to Rock n Roll Heaven courtesy of Chesterfield Venues. The winner also receives a voucher for a meal at Taste Restaurant at Chesterfield College, a trophy and a chance to sing at the Chesterfest event on August 9.

Finalists included martial arts performers and a magician.
