THE Environment Agency has issued flood warnings and alerts for rivers in Derbyshire following heavy rain.
Eyeswitnesses say the River Doe Lea at Bolsover has burst its banks and the Environment Agency has issued a warning, meaning flooding is expected and “immediate action” is required.
Meanwhile, the River Derwent from Rowsley to Shardlow, the River Amber around Ambergate and the River Rother from Renishaw to Rotherham are at risk of flooding this morning, according to officials.
An Environment Agency spokesman is calling on people to be prepared.
Eyewitnesses have contacted the Derbyshire Times to say standing water through Barlow, Baslow and Netherthorpe is making driving treacherous.
