Festival issues call for new works from Derbyshire creatives

Furthest from the Sea Music, Comedy and Arts CIC is looking for up to four Derbyshire-based individuals, groups or organisations to create new work to be featured at this summer’s Furthest from the Sea Festival.

The festival will be taking place across The Cathedral Quarter, Derby, on June 16.

All works must be family-friendly, able to be completed within the festival timescales and suitable to be performed outdoors in city centre locations.

Applicants will be asked to provide a project synopsis, outline of costs and where possible, successful applicants will be given time with an industry professional to discuss and develop their ideas and practises.

Applications are welcome from all performance artforms, deadline for entry is 5pm on Monday, April 30.

Matt McGuinness from Furthest from the Sea explained: “The funding from Arts Council England will ensure we can build on the success of previous years, presenting original works made in Derbyshire and providing talks and workshops from industry professionals essential to supporting and nurturing grass-roots artists in the area”.
