Keavey Green, 14, is drumming up support for the fundraiser for Weston Park Hospital at The Angel, Woodhouses, Sheffield, on April 16.

Her mum Helen is being treated for breast cancer at Chesterfield Royal Hospital and her consultant is based at Weston Park.

Keavey, of Eckington, said: “Me, my sister and cousins are likely to be affected by the disease later in life due to faulty genes brca 1 and brca2. This means the disease is hereditary, which is another reason for my passion to raise money.”

She has been having vocal lessons at S21 Live in Eckington for six years and is now having bass guitar lessons.

The gig is being arranged by S21 Live, whose founder Brian Wood hosts jam nights at The Angel. Regular drummer Robert Glynn, of Dronfield, is being treated for leukaemia at the Royal and his consultant is based at Weston Park.

Tickets for the fundraiser on April 16 are £2 on the door.
