Mybe’s festive fun Pinderstock reunion

ONCE upon a time, Christmas wouldn’t have been complete without a Morecambe and Wise TV special, a blackout and the sixpence in your mum’s plum duff.

But times change and where once Tiny Tim would have wept with joy to receive even a segment of seasonal satsuma, now Master Timothy baulks at unwrapping anything less than a PS3 or X-box.

One yuletide tradition from yesteryear is making a welcome one-off return, however.

Pintsized pop-punks Mybe, whose Christmas shows were a must-see fixture on the giging calendar many moons ago, are reforming for one-night only to play the Pinderstock event on Saturday.

The event, back after a five-year hiatus, takes place at its spiritual home, Dronfield Civic Centre, on Saturday, December 22.

Organiser Matty Pinder said: “For just £5 you can enjoy a festive evening full of music and merriment, making it the best present this side of Lapland.

“It’s always fun watching Mybe and this one-off reunion should be extra special.”

Also reforming specially for the bill are Dronfield duo The Irritants, with the line-up completed by Chesterfield troubadour Mick Bailey.

The event runs from 7pm to 10.30pm, with £5 tickets available on the door.
