Two more top acts have been announced for the Acoustic Festival of Britain this summer
Singer songwriter John Parr, who topped the charts in 30 countries with St Elmo’s Fire’ in the mid 80s, can be seen on Saturday evening.
Meanwhile, former frontman of 90s super group The Seahorses, Chris Helme, has been confirmed for the Sunday.
They join a list of stars lined up for the festival, which takes place at Uttoxeter racecourse, Staffs, over May 20-21-22.
Festival programmer Mike Stephens said: “It is great to add fabulous rock stars to our festival, in an un-plugged performance. We all recognise and like the full productions, but witnessing the songs being performed and sung acoustically by the composers is special and intimate. Ex Marillion front man Fish, Bay City Rollers Eric Faulkner, The Quireboys and Martin Turner‘s Wishbone Ash will be performing many of their hits and winning a whole new audience over.”
The headliners Cerys Matthews, Hayseed Dixie and Steve Harley have confirmed these are their only UK festival appearances to date. Fairport Convention play their acoustic show on Sunday as does folk – prog rockers The Strawbs.
