Popular locally-based band WhiteMoor are releasing a brand new song this Christmas.
The track will be available from www.WhiteMoor.co.uk as a free download from Saturday, December 13.
The North Wind is a live acoustic track that features strings and piano elements and is accompanied by a live session music video that will be premiered on MUZU.TV on the same day.
The track has already been featured on BBC Radio and BBC Introducing. The music video can be viewed at http://youtu.be/q92hpSTmWTo
Whitemoor explained: “The North Wind is a very different song for us, it’s a stripped back track that features a lot of live elements including strings, piano and acoustic guitar, as we normally record our material in a very different way the live video shoot was quite challenging but at the same time a lot of fun.
“We borrowed a cello player (Hannah Barrs) from a band we know called the Idolins and she was fantastic.
“We decided to release this track because we have spent the majority of 2014 writing and recording our third studio album. This has meant we haven’t really been out playing shows so thought it would be nice to give something back to the people who follow us. The track was written by Barrington and his old writing partner Peter A Backler for inclusion on our new album but we felt it was a perfect release for Christmas instead.”
The five-piece band is on the Belper-based SoundHub Records label and features members from Ripley and Belper, among other locations. WhiteMoor’s most recent album brought acclaim from far and wide and has seen the band gain fans from right across the country.
