A Grade II listed mill is set to be the spectacular backdrop for a exhilarating evening of jazz in New Mills.
The newly-renovated events floor at Torr Vale Mill will host a performance by Mart Rodger Manchester Jazz on Saturday April 6 in aid of New Mills Volunteer Centre and New Mills Festival.
Mart Rodger’s Manchester Jazz band is a team effort based on the jazz sounds of early musicians from New Orleans, and Chicago with a lineage stretching back to the ‘50s when some of the band members played in Manchester’s Zenith Six.
They have an international following and have wooed audiences across the globe including the USA, Canada, East Germany, Belgium, The Netherlands and Scandinavia.
Doors open at 7pm. There will be a licensed bar and a raffle.
Tickets, priced £10, are available from The Volunteer Centre, Union Road, New Mills; High Street Books, New Mills; or online at www.newmillsfestival.com.
