Little, big band Swingamathing may only be a seven-piece outfit but pack a punch like a full swing band.
Much of their music is from around the 30s, 40s and 50s as they air the sounds of Louis Jordan, Peggy Lee, Louis Armstrong, Billie Holliday and even a bit of Disney thrown in.
The swinging rhythm section of double bass, drums and guitar is complemented by the tight and bright brass section of trumpet sax and clarinet.
Smooth vocals bring the blast from the past alive.
Swingamathing will be performing in the bar at Chesterfield’s Pomegranate Theatre on Monday, February 20 at 8pm.
Tickets cost £7 and £5 (concessions) for adults and £4 for children. For further information, contact (01246) 345222 or www.chesterfieldvenues.co.uk
