They’ve been a long time coming....but Other Roads will finally be making a journey to north Derbyshire this month.
Fifteen months after snow caused their concert to be cancelled in December 2010, the band will be performing at Club Chesterfield, off Chester Street, Chesterfield, on Friday, March 9.
This was the earliest date they could be booked because of their popularity in the UK and on the continent.
Other Roads were born out of misfortune - Pete Abbot and Gregor Borland having been part of the exclusive band of musicians that the late John Wright gathered around him to make his appearances so very special before his untimely death.
The band then spent many months fulfilling John’s engagements before asserting their own musical talents and joining with Dave Walmisley to form Other Roads.
With a back catalogue of songs made popular by John Wright, some of which had been written by Pete Abbott, and their ability to produce the best from their own compositions and those from other top songwriters such as John Martyn, Eddie Morton and Kieran Halpin, Other Roads are in permanent demand.
Support for their Chesterfield concert will be Jenny Talbot and the legendary Ken Johnson.
