Brit Award-winning trio Blake will showcase material from their new album when they perform in Buxton’s Pavilion Arts Centre this month.
The group are known for their extraordinary renditions of both classical and popular music pieces, having refined harmonies from groups such as the Three Tenors, the Bee Gees and the Lettermen.
Blake sang with each other at school but only started a band after being reunited through Facebook. The trio quickly attracted national attention, going straight to No.1 in the classical album charts with their first release Blake.
Dame Shirley Bassey was so smitten with the group when she saw them perform on ITV’s This Morning eight years ago that she requested that they perform at her birthday party that same night. Since then the Dame has watched Blake at many of their live concerts.
Hot on the heels of groups like Il Divo and Collabro, Blake’s new album In Harmony offers a mix of songs.
Audiences at their concert in Buxton on September 15 can expect to hear hits including Fields of Gold, Bring Him Home, Nessun Dorma and Chasing Cars.
The show starts at 7.30pm. Tickets £22.50, discounts available. Contact 01298 72190 or www.buxtonoperahouse.org.uk
