The Christmas concert by Sheffield Philharmonic Chorus and Black Dyke Band is an annual event
which really marks the beginning of the festive season.
Performing at Sheffield City Hall, the choir sang carols from around the world including Germany, the Baltic, Mexico and Stannington.
The famous, award-winning band was in excellent form and played seasonal pieces with lively Christmas spirit.
The wide variety of Christmas music was beautifully performed and there was ample opportunity for the audience to join in carols we all know.
The band, choir and presenter, Petroc Trelawny, gave us a truly festive evening and the audience clearly appreciated it greatly.
l Sheffield City Hall will host the Johann Strauss Gala, starring Rainer Hersch and soprano Samantha Hay, on January 16. Tickets from £15, contact 0114 2789 789 or www.sheffieldcityhall.co.uk
