“It’s a pleasure to have the kindly comedy fanciers of Chesterfield and her esteemed environs indulge me and my choices of mirth-makers for a whole decade,” said Anthony J Brown.

His Spotlight Comedy Club is one of the longest-running of its ilk in the country and draws a hard core of regular supporters to the town’s Winding Wheel every month.

He’ll be compering the tenth anniversary show on Thursday, January 24, where he will be welconing back Mock The Week regular Nathan Caton as the headline act.

Making his Spotlight debut will be Patrick Monahan in the very week that he appears in ITV’s bizarre diving show Splash. Anthony said: “I’m hoping that the high board proves more daunting for him.”

Comedy fans have plenty to look forward to throughout 2014, including an Edinburgh Festival preview from Ian D. Montfort, the return of comedy legend Charlie Chuck and the Viz-meets-Harry Hill surrealist Seymour Mace, as well as the 6th annual Crooked Smile New Act Award.

Tonight’s show starts at 8pm.

Tickets are priced at £11, £9 and £6. Contact 01246 345222 or www.chesterfieldtheatres.co.uk
