High-kicking performers from Chesterfield’s Academy of Dance have been selected from hundreds of acts to showcase their skills at the Royal Albert Hall.
The group of 25 dancers, who are aged 16 years and over, will be appearing in the first-ever national Dance Proms on November 13.
They will perform ‘Ferrie’, a showgirl style routine inspired by the Moulin Rouge in Paris and choreographed by Rachel Littlewood, principal of The Academy of Dance.
It is a long standing tradition at The Academy of Dance to perform a showgirl piece at the end of every year and the school are thrilled to take this custom to the prestigious Royal Albert Hall.
They will be joining 24 other acts in the Dance Proms organised by the UK’s leading dance organisations: the International Dance Teachers’ Association (IDTA), Imperial Society of Teachers of Dancing (ISTD) and the Royal Academy of Dance (RAD) in association with the Royal Albert Hall.
