A Grand Spring Recital in aid of Buxton Festival is to be held at Chatsworth next month.

Organised by the Buxton Festival Friends, the special evening on Wednesday May 15, from 6.30pm, will feature performances by talented violinist Lizzie Ball and guitarist Morgan Szymanski in the magnificent Painted Hall.

Work by Bartok, Argentinian composer Piazolla, Spanish composer Manel de Falla and traditional Irish solos will be performed.

Buxton Festival Friends Chairman Louise Potter said: “Please join us for what promises to be a very special evening in a wonderful setting to raise funds to support Buxton Festival.”

Ball, who will be appearing at this year’s Buxton Festival, has performed extensively as a solo violinist, chamber musician, orchestral leader and more recently also as a jazz/pop vocalist in major concert halls and stadiums of the UK, Europe and South America.

Szymanski has been described as ‘a player destined for future glories’ (Classical Guitar Magazine), and highlighted as ‘One to Watch’ by Gramophone Magazine and BBC Music Magazine.

A featured artist on the cover of Classical Guitar Magazine, he was recently a finalist in the ‘Outstanding Young Artist Award’ by MIDEM Classique/IAMA.

Tickets, including champagne and canapés in the Sculpture Gallery, are £50 and available from Buxton Opera House on 0845 127 2190 or at
