Casting is due to take place for New Mills & District Amateur Operatic & Dramatic Society’s forthcoming production, the popular musical Annie.
The story of orphan Annie, and her journey to find her real parents, provides great character parts for all ages.
These include billionaire Oliver Warbucks, cruel Miss Hannigan, her dodgy brother Rooster, girlfriend Lily and many more, plus a singing and dancing chorus with great production numbers and songs such as It’s the Hard Knock Life, Tomorrow, NYC and You’re Never Fully Dressed Without a Smile.
Annie is to be performed at The Art Theatre by New Mills & District Amateur Operatic & Dramatic Society between November 26 and 30.
Anyone interested in auditioning is invited to attend a Get-Together at the Jodrell Street theatre in New Mills on Monday March 18, from 7.30pm.
The production team is particularly looking for a very talented girl to play the leading role of Annie, of playing age range from ten to 13; girls to play the roles of Molly, Pepper, Kate, Duffy, Tessie and July, playing age ranges from five to 15; and a girls’ chorus.
A full list of all Annie characters, including roles for adults, is available on the Art Theatre website at www.arttheatre.co.uk.
The Get-Together on March 18 will allow potential cast members to meet the director, who will talk about the show and answer any questions.
Audition pieces for principal parts or the chorus can also be collected.
This event is also open to anyone wishing to help out back-stage or front of house.
Auditions for Annie will be held on April 7 for children and April 28 for adults, on both days from 10.30am.
Anyone who is unable to make the Get-Together, but would like more information, can call 01298 25750.
