Battling knights, jesters and a dragon at Chesterfield medieval fun day

Merry-makers will be winding back the clock at Chesterfield's annual medieval fun day.

The market place will be bustling with stalls selling a range of goods and there will be games for children and a funfair on Tuesday, July 24.

Take a trip up the tower at the Crooked Spire Church where tickets will be £6 for adults and £4 for children.

A medieval encampment will be set up outside the church where the Thomas Stanley Retinue invite you to their living history display. See knights in battle and the troop marching to the market place.

A court jester will entertain the crowds outside the Visitor Information Centre.

Other attractions include an opportunity to meet the dragon and a knight near the Market Hall, listen to tales from long ago from The Legend of Castle Theobold Puppet Theatre on Burlington Street or visit Chesterfield Museum and meet Sir Cuss, the potion maker, for his Tricks and Tonics show.

This great day out for all the family runs from 10am to 4pm.
