But owner Ricky Marples says he has already received roaring praise for his pizzas which are made using authentic techniques and locally-sourced ingredients.
“I wanted to show people that pizza doesn’t have to be greasy, like what you’d get from your standard takeaway,” said Ricky 28.
“A pizza should be light and fresh with homemade sauce and less cheese.

Pizza Pi was founded on a joke between Ricky and an Italian friend.
“I said that I could make a better pizza than him. And I did,” he said.
Ricky sold his pizzas in a mobile van before taking the plunge and launching his own eaterie. The Christmas pizzas are his latest venture.

“I can tell you now that stuffing absolutely does not work.
“It’s good to have a special on at this time of year and offer something a little bit different.”
