Alice Ruane is a double winner at Chesterfield Golf Club.
For in addition to winning the Ladies Scratch Cup, she also won the Captain’s Prize.
In the scratch event, Alice had 88 points, one less than second-placed Sheila Gretton and three fewer than third-paced Kim Hopkinson.
Alice was also a star at Lady Captain’s Day, which was staged in glorious weather.
Winner of the best gross prize was Danielle Kay 85, committee prize Anne Sturgeon 29pts, junior prize Alex Williams with a nett 75.
The rest of the prizes were given in division for the stableford competition which was run in conjunction with the stroke play competition.
Handicaps 1-20, winner Margaret Grindell with 33 points, runner up Kim Hopkinson with 32 points,
Handicaps 21-28 winner Jane Holmes with 33 points, runner up Anne Peacock with 31 points. Handicaps 29-36 winner Amanda Hinchcliffe 31 points, runner up Janet Maskelyne 25points.

Lady Captain Ann Gillam also presented the two new ladies Tracey Warwick and Marie Bonynge who were taking part in their first Captain’s Day a pin as a memento. The winning ladies are pictured.

Meanwhile, the men’s Vets Cup was won by Robbie James with a gross 83 nett 73. Runners up was Alan Moore with a gross 97 nett 74.
An English Women’s Golf Association event was staged at Chesterfield when local winners included Division Two runner-up Sandra Walters of Grassmoor Golf Club and Division Three winner Alison Watson of the host club.
