Windle nets eight for double winners


Hasland Community Eagles U14s completed the perfect season in style as they scooped the Rowsley League Two title by making it 22 wins from 22 games with a 14-0 triumph over Tansley.

In addition they saw off Division One side Burbage United 4-3 to lift the Matlock Mercury Cup.

Leading the way in the 14-0 win was man of the match Liam Windle with eight goals.

Also on the scoresheet were Liam Pollard, Kaine Watson, Charlie Clayton and Alex Burton with a hat-trick.

In the cup final, Windle was again on form netting a hat-trick while the other goal came from Liam Bestwick.

Brimwood United U16s finished their season as winners up the cup and runners in the league, missing out on the title by a single point.

In the cup final at South Normanton Athletic, they faced Darley Dale and defeated them 2-1 after extra time.

Scorers were Kyle Perrins and Nathan Hughes with an inspired free kick to win the game with two minutes to go.

They ended the campaign with a 3-0 victory over Darley Dale. Scorers were Nathan Hughes, Jake Johnson and Jordan Healey while man of the match was Nathan Watts.

Old Whittington U15s captured the Hellison Trophy by defeating Alfreton Town 8-2 in the final.

Scorers were Laurence Brady 2, Oliver Knowles, Alex Flint, Daniel Heeley 2, Brad Hextall and Jake Gascoigne.

Two Chesterfield Town teams have enjoyed success in cup finals.

Town U9s Rowsley defeated Darley Dale Eagles 3-0 in the Primary Cup final.

On target were Oliver Marshall 2 and George Weaver.

Town U10s Sheffield saw off Hoyland Common Falcons 3-1 in the Sheffield League Cup final.

Marksmen were Jack Gibb, Ben Kingham and man of the match Joe Bramley.

They had beaten Worksop Town 5-3 in the semi-final with Luke Waller, Caleb Fletcher, Ben Kingham, Finn Oakley and Rio Topham scoring the goals.

Town Girls U14s beat Chellaston 4-0. Both Kotchakon Thongphakdi and Ellie Dunn scored two each with Abbie Truman the player of the match.

Town U11s Mansfield beat Beaufort United 2-1 with Lewis Smith scoring both goals.

Town U9s Whites Rowsley drew 1-1 against Brimwood United. Man of the match Cameron Dovison was the scorer.

Town U16s Rowsley lost 4-2 at Wirksworth. Peter Baker and Andy Owen scored. Man of the match was Martin Crompton.

Town U10s Mansfield lost 3-1 to Teversal. Luke Waller netted the consolation.

Town U10s Juniors Mansfield lost 2-0 against Shirebrook Rangers in the play-off for the Division Two runners-up spot.

Somersall Rangers U12s CHAD beat Dukeries 5-0. Scorers were Joe Clarke 2, Aaron Hill, Daniel Waller and Patryk Goral.

Unfortunately, they lost 3-0 against Teversal in a top of the table clash.
