Vaughan Fletcher and his “Scoobyclinic” prepared Subaru Impreza entered into rounds nine and ten of the BRSCC Euro Saloon Championship at Oulton Park, placed seventh in class and ready to close up the gap on those ahead.
With a large turnout of class rivals as well as ex-BTCC, WTCC and Australian touring cars thrown into the mix, two tough races lay ahead for the Chesterfield driver.
Qualifying netted a disappointing tenth place overall and fifth in class behind this season’s front running race winners.
Starting from halfway down the grid provided a stiff, and with the lights out battle commenced.
Fletcher began to battle through the grid and by the time the chequered flag was shown, the Impreza had fought its way up to fifth place, and only a lack of time denied a fourth place finish.
With some minor adjustments to the car, it was ready for race two.
Vaughan was sat in fifth place but unfortunately, the race was red flagged after a Renault Clio barrel rolled along the circuit.
Following the events of the weekend, the team now sits third in class with two rounds to go, one at Anglesey and the other at their home circuit of Donington Park.
The team will next be out at Cadwell Park on the September 8/9 for an appearance in the BARC “Classic Thunder” Championship.
