Chesterfield Golf Club has staged a Junior Open competition, for up and coming youngsters from around the county.
In all, seven seven prizes were awarded and the Best Gross went to Brett Austin from Tapton (Under 16 years).
Best Nett and the Junior Open Trophy was won by Charlie Eades (under 14yrs).
Second Best Nett winner was Sam Barker-Sabido (under 14yrs) of Tapton/Chesterfield while Daniel Hemslip won the award for the best junior with a handicap over 24.
Best Junior under 14yrs was Curtis Wildon. from Tapton, while Best Junior under 16yrs was Ben Brown from Chesterfield and Best Junior under 18yrs was Charlie Mycock from Buxton High Peak.
Junior Shield one of Chesterfield’s Major Trophies and it was won by Gianni Risorto with a nett 66.
His success was followed by his brother Fabio, 10, who won the over 24 handicap section in the Open am-am at Mickleover Golf Club with a nett 69.
Meanwhile, Chesterfield junior captain James Hewitt has won the club’s junior medal.
He claimed the laurels with a nett of 72, two strokes ahead of runner-up James Wadsworth.
In the Ladies Centenary Trophy, the winner was Kim Hopkinson with a nett score of 72. Runner up was Hilary Wildgoose nett 78
Marie Watson, with a nett score of 72, was the Silver Division winners of the Ladies Medal No 9.
She was four strokes ahead of runner-up Alice Ruane.
In the Bronze section, the winner was Margaret Brown with a nett score of 77.
Runner up was Jane Holmes nett 78.
