August Bank holiday weekend is traditionally set aside and this year the Championships attracted well over 2,000 competitors on each day.

High Peak had three teams of four competing (men, women and mixed) with each team member swimming 500 metres before passing the baton to the next team member.

Once the swim leg is completed by all four team members, the process is repeated with both bike and cycle legs.

Over 160 teams all in action at the same time made for quite a frenzied occasion.

Out of the 160 teams competing on the Saturday afternoon programme, High Peak’s mens team finished in a highly creditable 27th place, while the Women and Mixed teams, separated by a mere 16 seconds, performed extremely well to claim 89 th and 90th positions respectively.
