Top-five finishes for High Peak Tri Club pair
High Peak Triathlon Club members Jo Baker, from Whaley Bridge, and David Davidson, of Great Longstone, were selected to represent Great Britain in the recent European Age Group Championships, held in Alanya, Turkey.
The pair were entered into their corresponding age groups for the Olympic-distance event, featuring a 1,500-metre sea swim, a four-lap 40 kilometre cycle ride and a four-lap, ten kilometre run.
Baker finished a spirited fifth in her age group in a time of two hours and 40 minutes, while Davidson just missed out on the medals after finishing fourth, in a time of two hours and 35 minutes.
Both athletes now turn their attention to gaining qualification for the World Age Group event to be held later this year over the Olympic course in London.
