Three Reds selected for England duty

Three Alfreton Town players have been selected in the preliminary 40-man England C squad for the forthcoming International Challenge Trophy final against Portugal.

Josh Law, Connor Franklin and Theo Streete are the latest three Reds players to be called up by England C manager Paul Fairclough.

The final takes place at the Nene Park home of Rushden & Diamonds FC on Thursday, May 19, with a 7.30pm kick-off.

Meanwhile, the promoted Reds have confirmed a number of attractive pre-season games.

Burton Albion will visit the Impact Arena on Tuesday, July 19, before the Reds make the short trip to take on the new Ilkeston FC at the New Manor Ground.

The game against the Brewers will kick-off at 7.45pm and the Ilkeston fixture will be 3pm.

Alfreton’s full list of pre-season games so far is: Friday, July 15, Alfreton Town v Chesterfield, 7.45pm; Tuesday, July 19, Alfreton Town v Burton Albion, 7.45pm; Saturday, July 23, Ilkeston FC v Alfreton Town, 3pm; Wednesday, July 27, Alfreton Town v Sheffield United, 7.45pm; Sunday, July 31, Alfreton Town v Sheffield Wednesday, 2pm.
