Sporting teens given chance to join cricket-based apprenticeship
Youngsters in the High Peak area are invited to take advantage of a new cricket scheme set to be launched next month.
Cricket Derbyshire are launching a Sports Leadership Apprenticeship Scheme for children aged 16-18.
The scheme will offer a unique opportunity for young people who want to pursue a career in sport to become the community sport activity coaches and leaders of the future.
As well as completing an apprenticeship with Cricket Derbyshire, there will be an opportunity for successful candidates to gain additional qualifications in coaching cricket and supporting school sport.
Director of Partnerships Ryan Duckett said: “This is a fantastic opportunity for young people to work in a professional sport environment and gain industry-recognised qualifications.” The scheme begins in September 2013 and is completed over a 12 month period.
The closing date for applications is Friday, August 30 with interviews starting in the week commencing Monday, September 2.
