Woolley made the switch to speedway last year after successfully competing in junior grasstrack and then Short-track, where he was a two-time junior champion.

His 2013 campaign with the Hitmen was a steady one as he gained experience and confidence throughout the year with some good scores along the way.

Unfortunately some niggling injuries hampered his progress at times but the 20-year-old is hoping for an injury free season this time.

Hitmen boss Jayne Moss said: “We are pleased to have Tom back on board for a second season.

“He is still learning and will more than likely start the season in the main body of the team but he had a number of spells there last year and it didn’t faze him.

“He is popular with fans and riders alike and we are hoping that he can continue where he left off last year as he was getting amongst the points and winning some good races for us.”

Woolley said: “I’m really glad to be at Buxton this year and really enjoyed my first season in the National League there last year.”
