In-form Hitmen secure home win

The win will be a shot in the arm for the Hitmen following last week’s aggregate cup defeat to Dudley.

Some of the team which prospered against Kent are set to represent the club at Stoke in the National League Fours this coming weekend.

Liam Carr, Adam McKinna, Charles Wright and Ryan Blacklock are set to figure in the Midlands, and Hitmen’s team manager Jack Lee says he’s got high hopes for the quartet.

He said: “I’m looking at the National League Fours on Sunday with a great deal of confidence really because the four riders we’ve got all go pretty well around Stoke and the group we’re in, along with Stoke, Kent and Dudley, we’ve had good results against so far this season.

“I’m thinking we should be able to do what we did last year and get into the final, and hopefully this year we’ll win it.

“Last year we finished second with a referee decision going against us so hopefully this year we’ll go one better and win it.

“We’ve got four good riders down there so we’ll all be trying our very best.”

The next home meeting in the National League for the Hitmen is on Bank Holiday Sunday (August 25) against Dudley.
