Seniors return to winning ways


Dronfield Town Saturday Seniors returned to winning ways in the league with a convincing 3-0 win over lowly FC Bilsthorpe.

Town’s goals scorers were John Doran, John Perkins and Nick Horsfield. This victory lifts Town back into second place, with games in hand over current league leaders Clipstone Welfare.

On Saturday Town are finally at home as they host Thorne Colliery in the third round of the league cup at Stonelow with a 3pm kick off.

The Saturday Seniors Reserves put on a top class peformance and ran riot to win 5-1 at Graham St Pims in Derby.

Town’s young guns dominating from start to finish . Cal Mawbey with two and one each from Mikey Shaw, Johnny Pugh and Scott Austin.

The Over 35s lost 3-2 to Brinsworth. Dale Thurnham and Lee Hale for Town.

A weakened Town U18s were beaten 6-1 by Stocksbridge Park Steels. Stef Lantrua with Town’s consolation.

The U16s beat Greasbrough 1-0 in the cup. Elliott Allen-Ffacey with the all important goal.

The U10s beat Brampton Dynamos 3-1. George Washbourne with two and one from Ewan Spencer.

The U9s won their important league game against Stocksbridge Park Steels 4-0 thanks to a goal from Joe White and yet another hat-trick from Gabriel Gisborne.
