Chesterfield Panthers jumped back up to third in the Midlands Division Three East (North) with a 10-0 win over Aylestone St James.
The Dunston Road outfit on 56 points moved above Southwell (on 54) ahead of their meeting in Chesterfield this coming Saturday, February 21.
And, if the reverse fixture back in November is anything to go by when Southwell edged it 28-22, it promises to be a hotly contested match.
Amber Valley currently prop up the division on a single point behind Mellish on two points, there is then a big gap up to Ayleston on 27.
All 12 teams in the division have played 16 games and the race is on at both ends of the table in the remaining six fixtures of the league season.
Meanwhile, Bakewell Mannerians comfortably eased past West Bridgford 28-0 in the Midlands Division Two East (North) to move away from the foot of the table.
They face a short trip across the north of Derbyshire to Dronfield, who had a blank weekend and are locked on the same number of points as one another, this coming Saturday. Tupton travel to Long Eaton in the Midlands Division Four (East) North.
