Rob top of the tree in Pavilion pace test

Spectators at the latest Pavilion Gardens 5K race were treated to a thrilling race between in-form Rob White of Buxton AC and supervet Andy Wilton from Staffordshire Moorlands AC.

Rob was in training for next week’s Reykjavik Marathon, and warmed up nicely by posting a winning time of 17 minutes and 11 seconds, with Andy just eight seconds behind in 17.19.

Andy was also the first male over-50, whilst the first lady home and fourth overall in the race was Kerry Marchant from Staffordshire Moorlands in a time of 18.42.

Elsewhere, 13-year-old Louis Forshaw-Perring was the top junior male (sixth place overall) with 19.23, knocking a minute and ten seconds off his personal best for the distance, while 11-year old Amelia Newbould was the quickest junior girl with a time of 25.32.
