Raceline Tip of the Day: Sunday 7th October

It’s Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe day in France. For the record, the fancy of Scoop Racing (Richard Silverwood) is SAONOIS. But he looks to an earlier race for his nap.

Sunday 7th October

WHAT A NAME

Longchamp 2.05 WIN

Pitching two-year-old fillies into the company of colts, particularly at Group level, is always a risky business. But it didn’t seem to affect this improving daughter of Mr Greeley when she sailed to an impressive victory here at Longchamp last month. She now aims to repeat the coup when stepping up in class for the Group One Prix Jean-Luc Lagardere (Grand Criterium), which is one of the leading end-of-season pointers to the following year’s Classics. It doesn’t look a vintage renewal. so I expect the stable star of under-rated trainer Mikel Delzangles to win en route to the 1,000 Guineas at Newmarket next May. The prevailing soft ground should not present any problems for her.
