Raceline: Tip of the Day, Sunday 25th November

It’s fingers crossed that today’s meeting at Exeter passed an early-morning inspection after a deluge of rain over the past week left the ground saturated.

Sunday 25th November

GODSMEJUDGE

Exeter 1.35 WIN

If the meeting gets the go-ahead, the ground is sure to be very testing at Exeter today. But that won’t worry Alan King’s six-year-old, who proved he handles deep mud when an encouraging second on his chasing debut at Stratford earlier this month. Here, he switches to handicap company, but faces only four rivals off a mark just two pounds higher than that he reached over hurdles last season when a couple of victories included one in a 3m2f marathon at Huntingdon, which underlined his aptitude for stamina tests. King, who describes the son of Witness Box as “a proper staying type who could improve further over fences”, is confident of success this afternoon.
