Cyclist Peter Colledge is in the form of his life after breaking three records in a week.

The veteran Matlock Cycling Club member set new best times in the Winster Circuit Race, a 25-mile time trial and a 50-mile event.

In the Winster race, a ten-mile challenge, Colledge came home in third place in 25:05, a new veteran record for the course.

Local pro rider Will Fox won the event setting a new course record time of 23:58 seconds while Patrick Gould came in fourth place with a time of 25:33, with Steve Heading finishing in fifth with 25:44.

In the 25-mile race Colledge came first – and won by a considerable margin finishing in a new veteran record time of 56:24 – averaging just under 27mph.

Second place went to Matt Ingram who was the only other rider to go under the hour with a time of 59:05.

Matlock hosted the Burton and District Cycling Association 50-mile time-trial on the A6 between Bakewell and Matlock.

Peter Colledge rode to a massively impressive win with yet another record-breaking time of 1:55:38.

Colledge not only set a new veteran club record, but he also broke the senior record too and beat his previous personal best by more than three minutes.

Third place went to Matlock’s Lee Shunburne who was the only other rider to go under two hours – finishing in 1:57:32.

Matlock CC held its Tuesday evening ten-mile time trial and with many of the recent winners absent, Steve Heading took full advantage by recording a season’s best time of 23:36 seconds to take his first ten-mile win of the season.

Heading narrowly edged out Matt Ingram who finished just four seconds back in a time of 23:40.

Neil Armitage set a new personal best time, narrowly missing out on going under 24 minutes for the first time on the course with a 24:06.

Youth rider Sarah Lomas continued to impress in her first season time-trialling.

She finished in a time of 30:47.
