Personal bests at schools champs

There were a number of personal best performances by Chesterfield And District Athletic Club athleted at the Derbyshire Schools Championships at Derby.

Will Foot and Hannah Moody set new marks in the junior boys and girls pole vault competitions,

Oliver Dakin did likewise in the intermediate 100m hurdles.

In the senior girls’ events, Lauren Hill and Emma Botham set new records in the hammer and discus respectively.

In the junior boys events Joe Currie won the 1500m and Luke Ambrosioni the high jump.

Nathan Gavaghan earned a silver medal in the 100m.

Emily Rogers took junior girls’ bronze in the high jump and Lily Baines also claimed bronze in the javelin.

Charlotte Hickin and Aimee Fellows won the senior girls’ high jump and shot respectively, and there was a silver for Rebecca Wardle in the javelin.

Alex Ediker took the senior boys’ 1500m title.

Another 1500m winner was Sam Allen, in the intermediate boys, where Tom Spencer was second in the 3000m and Oscar Cousins third in the 800m.

Eloise Jones, Louise Cocking, Natasha Hill and Lois Green were all gold medal winners in the intermediate girls — in the triple jump, 3000m, hammer and pole vault respectively.

Leah Proctor took a silver in the 300m as did Lydia Cresswell in the 80m hurdles, where Elfie Burn won bronze.

The following day, Ella Barrett won senior women’s gold in the 200m at the Northern Championships in Manchester. Ella’s time of 24.59secs was a season’s best.

Aimee Fellows took under-20 bronze in the discus at the Midland Championships with a new personal best of 31.73m. She was also fifth in the shot.
