Storey, who has 10 Paralympic gold medals, has recently been seen training near Buxton in preparation for the event.

The race consists of a timed ascent of the climb out of the road from Whaley Bridge towards Buxton, starting on the edge of the village and finishing just before the turn-off to the Goyt Valley, for a total distance of 4.4 miles.

65 riders will head out individually from 10am, at one minute intervals, on the day.
