Matlock posted 240/6 before Whittington reached 202/6 before the match was drawn.

There were 20+ contributions from Ian Bache, Phil Braund and Tristan Kawalek, but the mainstay of the innings was a great 117 from David Kershaw.

That allowed others, including Steven Hooper 14* and debutant Chris Rowan 9* to make enterprising runs at the end, in an impressive total of 240-6.

In reply, the seniors in the team were very happy on such a warm afternoon to leave the bulk of the bowling, and running, to youth, and the six wickets taken were shared between Hooper, with two wickets, one for Jamie Lambert, and the others for Chris Rowan, who's 3-33 the reward for consistently bowling a full length, as Whittington closed on a commendable 202-6.
