Netball: Wood inspires Cobras to victory

A good, strong performance from Nouveaux helped them establish a half-time lead of 14-4 but in the second-half Taxal stepped up a gear and started chipping away at Nouveaux’s lead.

Gaby Storer for Taxal and Rachael Mycock for Nouveaux controlled the centre court and made some excellent interceptions as Nouveaux ran out 19-12 winners.

C division Kraken then took on Chinley B. This game started slowly with both teams struggling to score but by half-time Chinley had a lead of 4-1.

In the second-half Anna Heywood managed to increase the goals for Kraken but it was too late as Caroline Burns helped take Chinley to a well deserved 13-8 victory.

The next match was another A division game between Glossop and Cobras.

A tight game resulted in a narrow 11-8 win for Cobras thanks to a late couple of Hannah Wood-inspired points.
