National title triple for Lucas

Representing Chesterfield club Mind Body and Spirit, Lucas Eyre, 11, had a magnificent day at the British Ju Jitsu National Championships to win three national titles.

The hold medals came in the weapons kata, random attacks and continuous fighting categories.

His mum June, said: “Lucas struggles with ADHD daily.

“News regarding ADHD is not always positive and I would like people to see what the impact of martial arts can do for suffers of it.

“Lucas is a promising star in the making and a great role model of what hard work and dedication can help you achieve.”

Lucas will be representing his club and Country in October at the United Nation Congress in Spain.

Lucas also came away with two silver medals as part of a Mind Body and Spirit team at the Southend International Championships.

Over the two competitions, the club won six gold, six silver and three bronze medals.

Head coach Michael Holden said: “Our team worked extremely hard in their preparation and during these championships showing dedication, determination and respect for the opponent both on and off the mat.
