Two other Chesterfield SC swimmers also performed well at the regionals, with Jorge Thompson taking seventh and George Alton eighth in the 17-to-18-year-olds’ age group.

Head coach Mark Tanner said: “This is the first time some of these swimmers have competed in open water competitions, making their performances even more of an achievement. We will be working hard next season and encouraging more of our swimmers to compete in open water, as well as our regular pool-based competitions.”

Chesterfield SC, based at Queen’s Park Sports Centre, offer all kinds of programmes for juniors, seniors and masters swimmers.
