Napit League set for big kick off

Sunday League football gets underway in north Derbyshire this weekend and the Chesterfield Sunday League are proud to announce that their new sponsor for the coming season is NAPIT who replace former sponsor VK Vodka Kick/Kick Energy who sponsored the league for the previous seven seasons.

NAPIT, the National Association for Professional Inspectors and Testers, was formed in 1992 and has evolved and expanded to be one of the fastest growing Government Approved register holders for Part P Registered Domestic Electrical Installers serving the needs of those carrying out equipment testing and electrical installation and testing in commercial and industrial sectors.

The Alma Cup will continue to be sponsored by Dey and Co, the Chatsworth Cup by Ace Sports and the Hutson Cup by the Mill.

This season more than 90 clubs will contest the league in eight divisions.

The opening games are on Sunday with fixtures for clubs in divisions six to eight on Tuesday the sixth and on Thursday the eighth for divisions one to five.

Last season’s first division champions Hasland Devonshire begin their defence of the title with a visit to Doe Lea Villa while runners up and Alma Cup winners Mill Madrid start with an away game at Killamarsh Juniors.

Two newly-promoted sides Eckington Boys and New Whitt face off against each other on the opening day.

In the second division relegated Grassmoor Sports start life out of the league’s top flight with a visit to Brookfield to face AFC Brampton, last season’s third division runners up.

Last season’s division four champions Rowthorne Lane SC will also be playing second division football this time around along with last season’s division five champions Highfield.

There are seven new clubs competing in the league for the first time, Brampton Rovers JMA and Hosetech in five, Railway Club Athletic in six, Corner House and AFC Bolsover in seven and Brampton Brewery and Oxcroft DC United in division eight.
