Up-and-coming Chesterfield driver Seb Perez celebrated his 18th birthday in style when Brands Hatch hosted the finale to his debut season in the Michelin Ginetta GT4 Supercup Championship.
For he ended up tenth in the overall pro category standings after solid performances in all three races at the famous Kent circuit, finishing 12th, 13th and ninth.
“It’s been a super-tough season, but all part of the learning process,” Perez said afterwards. “I never got the breaks to convert potential into grid places and results. But it will make me a stronger, more rounded racer.”
The impressive way in which Perez fought back in the second race at Brands Hatch, after sliding off the track into the grass, gave a real glimpse of his raw ability and promise for the future.
He has coped well with the transition from the smaller Ginetta Junior Championship of the previous two years.
