Lifetime goal achieved for Chesterfield driver

Chesterfield driver Vaughan Fletcher achieved a lifetime’s goal when he secured his first title in the BARC Thunder Saloon Championship.

Competing in rounds 13 and 14 of the championship at the famous Spa Francorchamps circuit in Belgium, the self-employed builder and joinery contractor, piloted his Subaru Impreza to third place in both races and in doing so secured the class title and overall 2014 championship in the process.

Having led the championship all season, it all came down to the final event of the year to secure the title.

Fletcher has competed in his Scooby Clinic prepared Subaru Impreza for the past six years and the title win is as much for those that have supported him on his journey as it is for himself.

Following his achievement, Fletcher wanted to thank those who had supported him, saying: “Without the help from all of my sponsors, family and friends none of this would be possible, and I an extremely grateful for the support they have given me over the years.”
