Law free of injury worries

AFTER two games on the road last week, Alfreton Town return to the Impact Arena on Tuesday evening when Newport County are the visitors in Blue Square Bet Premier Division action.

Under the new managership of former Rushden & Diamonds boss Justin Edinburgh, Newport have improved recently and climbed out of the relegation with places thanks to back-to-back victories in their last two outings, clean sheets being kept in both of them.

Last Saturday saw a 1-0 home win over Lincoln City. That came four days after a superb 4-0 success at Hayes & Yeading United.

For a first-ever game against The Exiles, Alfreton Town boss Nicky Law has no injury worries to affect his selection with only Jamie Mullan unavailable as he sits the game out as he serves the last of a three-game suspension.

For what is certainly another ‘six-pointer’ for Alfreton, the Reds chief will be looking for his side to be more ruthless in front of goal as Town try to get back to winning ways after undeserved defeats at both Barrow and Southport last week.

Kick-off is 7.45pm.
