Last gasp winner keeps Dev on top

Hasland Devonshire extended their lead at the top of the first division after scoring an injury-time winner in a seven-goal thriller at White Swan.

They led at the interval 1-0 adding a second early in the second half. Swan pulled a goal back before Devonshire restored their two-goal advantage with Swan coming back strongly again to draw level.

After almost four minutes of additional time at the end of the game when a draw looked to be an odds on certainty the leaders, for whom Ant Lynam scored twice, Lee Clay and Darren Kirkland stole the points with that late winner.

Doe Lea Villa began the day in second place but slumped to a 3-2 defeat at Mill Madrid, Harcourt, Degirolamo and Norris with Madrid’s goals.

Replacing Villa in second place are Killamarsh Juniors who, thanks to strikes from Gary Parsons, who scored twice, Adam Wheeldon, Danny Lester and James Edge beat Grassmoor Sports 5-0. Hepthorne Lane eased their relegation concerns with an excellent 6-2 victory at ABM Birdholme WMC.

Second division leaders Tibshelf Town slipped to a surprise defeat to Dronfield Town for whom Boyd and Poulter scored in a 2-0 win.

Eckington Boys go second after two Ian Hutchinson goals helped secure a 4-1 win over Inky FC.

Elsewhere New Whitt thrashed Clowne Wanderers 8-1 while Lokomotive Athletic beat Bolsover Old Boys 4-1, Monk, Smith, Vaughn and Mowbery scoring for Athletic.

In the third division third-placed Oxcroft MW and second-placed Talbot both recorded victories, Oxcroft just easing past Brickmakers 3-2. On target for Oxcroft were D Brown who scored twice and T Ward.

Talbot won for the eighth time this season, Chris Butterworth scoring twice in a 3-1 win over Ark Tavern.

Fourth-placed Brampton travelled to Creswell and returned home with three points after a goal from Chris Speer and Ant Lyne secured them a 2-0 win over Rose and Crown while Brampton Anchor were also winners Ant Kelly and Steve Burrell on target in a 3-2 score line against Killamarsh Juniors Athletic.

Runaway division four leaders Rowthorne Lane SC must have fancied their chances of beating lowly Pilsley MW who sit eight places and 17 points behind them and in the event they did but they had to work hard against a very spirited side before R Murcott and J Parfitt’s goals achieved a narrow victory, C Hall replying for Pilsley.

Second from bottom Midland Hotel Killamarsh recorded a fine 1-0 at derby rivals West Killamarsh Reserves, Matt Handysides with the winner.

Three Horse Shoes beat Chesterfield Town 3-1 Aiden Awditch scoring twice while D Fletcher also scored two in a 4-0 win at Crown Inn.

Highfield maintained their advantage at the top of division five after a solid performance saw them humble Chesterfield Arms 8-2. Leading the way was Nathan Whitehead with three and Sam Bartram with two goals respectively.

Barrow Hill MC picked up three vital points as they fight relegation, Dan Whitmore scoring twice in a 2-1 win at AFC North Wingfield.

Black Swan’s B Cooke was in fine form running in four goals in his side’s 6-1 win at Hunloke Arms. Charlies Bar beat Scarlets Nightscene 2-1 as Poolsbrook and Red Lion played out a 3-3 draw.

Division Six pacesetters New Inn Newton continue to dominate after they beat Dronfield Town Reserves 6-1, B Blackburn registering a treble in the victory.

Butchers Arms stay second after a J Rose goal secured them a point in a 1-1 draw at Barracuda.

Dronfield Woodhouse go level on points with them after they beat Cock and Magpie 4-1, Paul Hollis, Adam Wheeldon, Danny Lester and evergreen Stuart Vitty on target.

A 30-yard screamer from Ryan Clarke plus a couple of goals from Mark Bailey helped Brimington Club to a 5-2 win over Bull and Badger.

Palterton Sporting added to bottom club Barlow Kingston Rovers woes as Tom Roe with two, Chris Booth with two and Jamie Hudson starred in a 5-1 Sporting victory.

Second from bottom Gate Inn also lost, J Stevens twice and B McCaffey scoring against them for Hasland Community who won 3-2.

Renishaw MW made it ten wins from 11 starts in seven as they outplayed Bolsover Old Boys Reserves, N Preston, D Talbot and N Lucas each scoring twice in a 9-2 win.

Spread Eagle and Miners and Diners met in a relegation clash and it was the former who prevailed 5-1, J Watkinson and D Kirk both scoring a brace.
