Kieran makes point for Villa

First division leaders Hasland Devonshire welcomed Doe Lea Villa to Eastwood Park on Sunday for what turned out to be an excellent game of football.

Devonshire went ahead in the 14th minute when Villa conceded a penalty, Danny Kirkland picking himself up to score from the spot.

Villa were on level terms when Kieran Lofthouse pounced on a loose ball inside Devonshire’s area to hit a sweet shot passed the keeper from ten yards.

Villa who came closest to finding a winner when a defensive mix-up left Dave Chambers one-on-one with the keeper only to hit a week shot straight at him from just inside the box.

Mill Madrid travelled to out of form ABM Birdholme and won easily, M Wain hitting a treble in a 7-1 scoreline.

Two Richard Norman goals saw Creswell Seniors beat Grassmoor Sports 2-0.
