Graham is Derbyshire’s top senior

Matlock Golf Club’s Graham Coppen has been named top Derbyshire Men’s Senior Player for the second year running.

In July this year, 59-year-old scratch golfer Graham, from Crich, won the Derbyshire Seniors Title at Mickleover Golf Club with an exceptional gross 66 to win the Cyril Ibbotsen Trophy.

At the same event he also won the Hartington Shield with fellow clubmate Graham Jones for the two best net scores with a convincing total of 132 nett.

In the final of the Derbyshire Seniors Matchplay Competition, he has recently finished his 2013 season with a further impressive victory at Ashbourne Golf Club.

The top eight players from the Cyril Ibbotsen Trophy went forward with Graham beating Bill Steel from Chevin Golf Club in the final.
